About

My introductory blog covered just about everything I’ve been doing for the last three plus years. But after reading Martha Beck’s “The Joy Diet” last night there was a line that made me smile; because when you take away all the fancy accomplishments, all the busy-ness surrounding building a business, you still have to keep a weather eye on whether what you’re accomplishing and doing are still what you want. Beck said, “…each person has a “right life”, a journey through this world that will bring him or her the most possible joy and fulfillment.”

I liked that simple statement because I’ve been guilty of getting caught up in the whirlwind that is my life and wondering if everything I’m doing is what I want to be doing or what feels right anymore.

Coaching, teaching and writing feel “right”. With a silly grin I tell people I’m an adventuring philosopher or aspiration strategist but it feels “right”.  Taking the years of study to which I’ve devoted myself, reading all the books, learning about all the systems that promise to help people achieve their best life, I’ve decided that I can do the most good helping people navigate the very confusing “self-help” world.

There’s a lot of info and I seem to have a knack for boiling down a philosophical concept into common sense terms. I love it.
